Volunteer LSU

Following the impact of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, LSU students felt compelled to respond to the needs of the affected communities. These efforts led to the formation of the student group, Volunteer LSU, whose mission is to promote and coordinate volunteer opportunities, build partnerships within the community, and instill a lifelong commitment to service.

Since then, Volunteer LSU has organized events such as Community Bound, the annual Sweet Olive Cemetery Clean-Up, and Spring Greening Day. Each focus area of Volunteer LSU seeks to address a specific need in the community by engaging LSU students in direct service.

Our projects range from the on-going Tigers Tutoring Program to international service trips. Although we provide a variety of projects, our purpose is always the same – to create a better world.
