Dublin And London Study Abroad Summer Program
Want to study gender, Irish and British murder cases, theatre, stage performance,
social justice, or social work while spending four weeks in Dublin and London this
summer? Sign up for SOCL 4091: Irish/British Murder Cases! With a combined classroom-real
world experience approach to learning, you spend a considerable amount of time seeing
each country. Field trips include: Stonehenge/Bath, Kilmainham Gaol, the Tower of
London, Globe Theatre, and many more sites!
If you have any interest in participating, please contact the program director, Dr. Elaine Maccio (emaccio@lsu.edu). You can also email or stop by and see Dr. Sarah Becker in Sociology to ask questions (sbecker@lsu.edu, 141 Stubbs Hall). Scholarships—some of which cover the FULL cost of the trip: travel, tuition, fees and all—are available through HSS and other programs on/off campus. Check out the following sites and/or contact the LSU Study Abroad office for more information (Jill Clemmons - jclemm1@lsu.edu). Note that some of these scholarships have application deadlines in January, so if you are interested, it is good to start thinking and planning your possible trip to Ireland and Britain now!
