Spring Greening Day 2018

Spring Greening Day is an annual half-day service project to beautify and green the LSU campus.  On April 19th, more than 280 volunteers (students and staff) planted 18,369 new plants in Memorial Oak Grove behind the Student Union.  More than 30 campus organizations and groups participated in the event - a record number!  President F. King Alexander kicked off the event with a talk in front of Free Speech Circle focused on LSU’s commitment to sustainability and natural resource protection.  Spring Greening Day 2018 was made possible through the generous support of BASF and Campus Federal Credit Union, and partners included Campus Sustainability, Campus Life, and Student Government. KLSU FM played music for all of the volunteers, making it more of a party!
