Exploring bone die techniques to improve the visibility of microstructures
May 24, 2023
Ashton Dalton is an animal sciences major conducting research in Kevin Hoffseth’s biological image processing laboratory. He is exploring new methods to enhance the detection of microstructures in bone samples from livestock.
Dalton learned about Dr. Hoffseth’s research during an intro bioengineering class
and Dalton emailed Dr. Hoffseth how he was interested and would like to be involved.
The biggest thing Dalton says he is getting out of the research is learning many different
skills, such as coding, cleaning and cutting bone, and problem-solving.
