William (Bill) Buslepp joined the faculty in 2016. He earned his PhD in Accounting from Florida State University and his BA and MBA in Accounting from Michigan State University. Prior to pursuing an academic career, he worked in assurance and consulting services with Arthur Andersen and PricewaterhouseCoopers and later served as an International Accounting Manager for Sensient Technologies Corporation.
His research examines the role of financial intermediaries in capital markets, with a particular focus on auditing, regulation, and how stakeholders use and respond to information produced by auditors and regulators. Much of his work explores the effects of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board's (PCAOB) oversight and enforcement activities on audit firms, clients, and investors.
Bill's research has been published in leading accounting journals, including The Accounting Review, Accounting, Organizations and Society, Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, and Journal of Accounting, Auditing & Finance.
