Center of Excellence
The National College Learning Center Association (NCLCA), certified the Center for Academic Success (CAS) as its second ever Learning Center of Excellence in the country in 2015.
The NCLCA created the Learning Center of Excellence certification program to promote professional standards of excellence, honor established and unique learning centers, encourage centers to develop, maintain and assess quality programs and services and celebrate outstanding achievements of centers that meet and exceed these standards.
The certification program is endorsed by the Council of Learning Assistance and Developmental Education Associations (CLADEA), and is the only certification program that recognizes learning centers that have a demonstrated history of excellence and have effectively exceeded the professional standards and best practices in the field of learning assistance. To date, three learning centers are certified as such.
CAS is a world-class, flagship university learning center and serves as a national model in the areas of college learning assistance, metacognition and student retention. The CAS thanks the Shell Oil Company, campus partners, CAS tutors, SI leaders and staff for their dedication to helping LSU students achieve their dreams. Noting the Center’s importance to LSU, the Center is currently identified as an LSU presidential fundraising priority and is seeking to endow some of its most valuable and vulnerable academic support programs for LSU students.
