Raime Thibodeaux
Director, Mental Health Service
I am a first-generation college student who received pell grants to help fund my pathway to education. I come from very modest beginnings and have put in hard work (both personally and professionally) to get where I am today. I remember both how challenging and also transformative the college experience was for me, so working in this environment is one way of me paying it forward to others.

Favorite campus spot
The Parade Grounds. It is so nice to see students using the space to lay down on blankets to soak up the sun, read a book, play a game of frisbee, take a moment to walk barefoot in the grass. Mindful and relaxing moments in nature can be so healing.

When I was around 10 years old, I won a hula hooping contest and recently I was the recipient of the "winner" trophy with a group of friends who play dominoes every few weeks.
