Hylan Coffman started working with Aldi in July 2022 as a District Manager Trainee. Coffman was interested in the Aldi team because of the investment they make surrounding their training program. This training offered by Aldi ensures that new hires are set up for success in their new role.

Coffman’s training was truly hands-on, included working in Associate and Managerial roles from Store Associate to Assistant and Store Manager positions. This beneficial experience helped her fully understand the job functions throughout the business. Along with the in-store experience, Aldi contributed to her executive training, and once completed, Coffman will oversee her first district of seven Aldi stores.

The company is becoming popular with college students and graduates. With stores opening across the country, the opportunity for growth and success seems endless. Coffman’s experience with Aldi has allowed her to meet people from different walks of life and appreciate what they can bring to a team. When asked about her biggest takeaway from this experience so far, she responded, “The great things in business are never done by one person; they are done by a team of people.”

Hylan Coffman, District Manager Trainee

Coffman discovered the District Manager Trainee program at an LSU recruiting event. She urges students who don’t know where to start in their career journey to take advantage of every opportunity on campus.

“I can’t stress enough how important it is to put yourself out there – the only person stopping you, is you,” Coffman said.

Aldi is actively recruiting college students for internship and full-time positions in the District Manager Trainee program. At $28/hour, the 10-week summer internship allows students to shadow store managers, work directly with District Managers, and spend time with the Aldi executive team. Students are encouraged to choose the location of their internship.

Interested in full-time positions? Upon completion of the full-time training program, District Managers oversee seven Aldi stores and typically start at a salary of 100K annually, along with sporting a company car.
