Workday Scheduling - FAQ

Students will be notified when they can access Workday and create their Saved Schedule. The FAQ below is intended only for students who have been notified and given access to the Workday academic hub. Keep in mind, the Saved Schedule is not your official schedule. An advisor will review and complete the course registration process for your Fall schedule. You will receive an email once that process is complete.

To see a full list of the courses you should take please visit the LSU General Catalog, select the 2025-2026 academic year, then select the All Degree programs option from the menu of the left-hand side, then find your major and concentration. This will give you the 8-semester recommended path that matches what you see in the plan. Use the plus and minus in the plan to add and remove requirements or courses from your plan.

All new students will see a registration hold on their account—this is expected and will remain in place through your first semester. You will also see a registration appointment listed; this can be ignored for now. It simply indicates when your registration access would typically begin, but as a new student, your advisor will review and finalize your schedule for you.

We are aware that some students are experiencing issues with the academic plans. As our Workday Student team, works to identify solutions, we offer you an alternative to create your saved schedule by using the LSU General Catalog - Recommend Path as a guide. Using the information in the Recommended Path, which is identical to the academic plan, you will create your course schedule directly from the course offerings report in Workday Student.

  • To view the course offerings for on-campus students, use the Workday search bar at the top of the homepage and type in Find Course Sections – LSUAM
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to enter in the date for Fall 2025.
  • From the report, you can review available course sections and add selected courses directly to your Saved Schedule.

If you see the message 'transfer credit assigned' on your plan, you have earned credit on file for that course and do not need to take the course again. Use the plus (+ ) and minus (-) signs in the plan to add and remove requirements or courses from your plan. Use the LSU General Catalog - Recommended Path to identify another course to take and enter the course name and number in the courses box on the plan.

Math placement is based on your ACT/SAT scores or ALEKS Math Placement Score. You have 5 total attempts on the ALEKS. Review your Recommended Path in the LSU General Catalog to see the MATH courses needed and refer to the Math placement chart on the LSU ALEKS website to see what score is needed to be placed into the course.

The credits will post once an official transcript or score report is received. If you have have questions about your scores or transcripts, contact your admissions counselor or email admissions@lsu.edu.

Log in to your Workday Student Account > Click the person icon > Click View Profile > Select Academics > Use the Request button to request to change your major. If you do not see the request button, you likely have a major change request already in the system and will not see the button again until it is processed.

Your major will not update on the plan until the Fall, we recommend referring to the General Catalog to find what courses to take. You should use the minus (-) button to remove the row and the plus (+) button to add a new row. Use the LSU General Catalog - Recommended Path to identify another course to take and enter the course name and number in the courses box on the plan.

On your saved schedule you will see a field at the top labeled, Saved Schedule Name*. In that box type, Ready to Geaux. Then at the bottom press ok to save your saved schedule.

No. Your saved schedule is the first step. An advisor will review and complete the course registration process for your Fall schedule. You will get an email in May once complete.

The Saved Schedule is your opportunity to share and select your course preferences, but may not be your final Fall schedule. The advising team will create a schedule based on your recommended path from the LSU General Catalog.
