Housing Agreement
Housing agreements are for an academic-year and have cancellation penalties.
Both the application fee submitted by new students and the prepayment submitted by current students are non-refundable.
All full-time, first-year students are required to live in on-campus housing for their first two semesters.

Any refund or fee associated with cancellation will go by the date and time the cancellation form is submitted and will be administered through your university student account.

Other Cancellation Fee Circumstances
Before submitting the agreement cancellation form, carefully review the agreement cancellation fee schedule below.
- Responsible for full cost of assigned room for fall and spring semesters.
- If you graduate in the fall, are academically ineligible to return for spring, or withdraw from LSU prior to the first class day of the spring semester, your spring charge will be reversed.
- If you did not live in a residence hall for the fall semester and properly cancel your housing contract before classes begin for the spring, your spring charge will be reversed.
- If you withdraw from LSU prior to or on the final day to receive any refund of University fees as published in the Schedule Booklet by the Office of the University Registrar for a given term, you will only be responsible for the cost of your assigned room for the associated term through the night that you properly check-out of your space.
- If you withdraw from LSU after the final day to receive any refund of University fees as published in the Schedule Booklet by the Office of the University Registrar for a given term, you will be responsible for the full cost of your assigned room for the associated term.
- If you withdraw from LSU during the fall semester, you will still be assessed the spring charge for your assigned room. If you remain unenrolled by the 14th day of the spring semester, that charge will be reversed.
- $1,000 penalty for the associated term
- Full assigned spring charge if original failure to claim or cancel was for the fall semester.
- If you are unenrolled after the 14th class day of the spring semester, your spring charge will be reversed.
- Full assigned charge for associated term.
- Full assigned spring charge if original failure to claim or cancel was for the fall semester.
- If you are unenrolled after the 14th class day of the spring semester, your spring charge will be reversed.
- If you cancel your summer housing assignment on or after the first day of classes of the summer term, you will be responsible for the full cost of your assigned room for the summer.
- If you defer your enrollment to a subsequent term with the LSU Office of Admissions, you must forward confirmation of your deferment to Residential Life at housing@lsu.edu. Penalties will not be waived until you move into your assigned space for the subsequent term.

- Failure to abide with this or to obtain an approved exemption will result in a penalty equal to the cost of the lowest, two-student room space to be charged to your student account each semester you are in violation.
