ARCHAEOLOGY DAY AT THE LSU CAMPUS MOUNDS
Are you intrigued by the past? Are you curious about the history of Louisiana? Join
us for Archaeology Day at the LSU Campus Mounds and experience firsthand the thrill
of archaeological discovery!
On October 30, from 4 PM to 6 PM, the LSU Museum of Natural Science in partnership
with the Louisiana Division of Archaeology and the LSU Department of Anthropology
and Archaeology will host a hands-on workshop where you can learn essential archaeological
methods. A team of LSU Grad Students in Anthropology, professional archaeologists
from the Louisiana Office of Cultural Development, and the LSUMNS Anthropology Division
will guide you through soil sifting techniques while providing valuable insights into
the world of archaeological research and scientific methodology, while discussing
the long history of Louisiana.
DATE AND TIME: October 30, 4 PM-6 PM
LOCATION: LSU Museum of Natural Science. 119 Foster Hall, Baton Rouge, 70803.
APPAREL: Comfortable clothes that can get dirty, closed toe shoes, gardening gloves, hat,
protective glasses or sunglasses. Please, bring your own sunscreen and water bottle.
