ACCREDITATION

The Lutrill & Pearl Payne School of Education is accredited at the initial- and advanced-licensure level by CAEP, the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation. National recognition was earned by demonstrating excellence in the areas of content and pedagogy, clinical experiences, selectivity, program impact, and capacity for continuous improvement. The most recent accreditation through the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) was approved in 2020 and continues through spring 2027. A current list of the nationally approved educator licensure programs is included below:

All levels - Health & Physical Education (K-12)

Post Baccalaureate - Masters
Elementary Grades (1-5), Biology (6-12), Chemistry (6-12), English (6-12), Mathematics (6-12), Physics (6-12), and Social Studies (6-12)
Certification Only - Early Childhood (PK-3), Computer Science (6-12), Health & Physical Education (K-12)

The Master's of Library & Information Science (MLIS) has been continuously accredited since 1931 by the American Library Association (ALA).

The MS in Athletic Training is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).

The K-12 Health & Physical Education concentration within the BS in Kinesiology is nationally recognized by the National Association for Physical Education, Sport/American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, and accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).

The MS in Sport Management graduate program is accredited by the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA). THe program is designed to prepare graduate students for careers regarding the business and managerial aspects of sport and recreation.

The LHRD undergraduate degree is aligned with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the national organization, and foremost expert, convener, and thought leader on issues impacting today's evolving workplaces. SHRM recognized that our curriculum prepares HRD students to meet the needs of today's businesses.

The Masters of Social Work (MSW) program is accredited by the Council in Social Work Education (CSWE), the only body recognized by the Council for HIgher Education Accreditation to accredit social work education programs in the United States.

The Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree is currently in candidacy with the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
