The campus Continuous Performance Management (CPM) represents a continuous process of planning, communication, development, recognition, and evaluation between the employee and the manager. Managing performance is an important year-long collaborative process and is crucial to achieving LSU's Flagship Agenda.

Annual Evaluations Part 2
The State Civil Service is transitioning to a calendar year evaluation period and has implemented a transition phase to facilitate this change.
During this transition period, a second Annual Evaluation will be conducted from November 1, 2024, through December 13, 2024; therefore, an Annual Evaluation will be required for all Classified employees.
- Routing: Manager, Manager To Do: Meeting Step, Employee Acknowledgement
- Rating Scale: Successful, Needs Improvement/Unsuccessful
- Evaluation period: July 1 through October 31, 2024.
- Employees cannot request a review of this Annual Evaluation.
This additional evaluation will play a crucial role in determining eligibility for permanent status.

Planning Sessions
- 2025 Planning Sessions will be available on January 1, 2025
- A new Planning Session will not be required for current Classified employees who have already received a planning session from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.
- A Planning Session will be required for employees that have a change job (e.g., hire, promotion, or lateral move) appointed on or before October 31, 2024.

Annual Evaluations
The Annual Evaluation is a summary of year-round job performance. It consists of evaluating each major responsibility and competency for employees in Workday. If the Planning Session for an employee is not completed, most sections for the Annual Evaluation will be blank.
- Annual Evaluations will be conducted on November 1, through December 13, 2024.
- The period in which Unclassified and Other Academic employees should be evaluated is January 1, 2024 through October 31, 2024.
- Annual Evaluations will NOT be initiated for unclassified employees who were hired on August 3, 2024 or after.

Planning Sessions
The Planning Session is for the manager to set major responsibilities, goals, development plan, and review the competencies for employees in Workday.
If the Planning Session for an employee is not completed, most sections for the Annual Evaluation will be blank.
Planning Session must be completed by the manager within 30 days of the effective date of the following cases:
A new Classified and Unclassified/Other Academic employee is hired.
- An employee begins another position (lateral move/promotion/demotion/change job).
- The standard Planning Session period is as followed:
Classified, Unclassified and Other Academic employees will be conducted on January 1, through January 31.
